Mrs. Chapman-Elder graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbus State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. She received her Master of Music with an emphasis in General Music from Columbus State University as well. Mrs. Chapman-Elder also holds Orff Level 1 and 2 certification.
During college, Mrs. Chapman-Elder was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies. She was also a member of the Mu Phi Epsilon professional music fraternity.
She taught saxophone lessons for several years and is in her 25th year of teaching at the elementary school level.
Mrs. Chapman-Elder was the 2009 Teacher of the Year at Midland Academy.
She enjoys spending time with her two sons, husband, family, and friends. She also competes in 5k's, 10k's, half marathons, marathons, and triathlons.
